Bengaluru, Sep 24: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee chairman, Y Sayeed Ahmed, appointed Dr Seema Fernandes as the vice chairman of the Minority Department, after seeking approval from Khurshid Ahmed Saiyed, chairman, Minority Department, All India Congress Committee.
Dr Seema Fernandes will help in functioning and strengthening of the minority department, as well as Congress party in the state under the leadership of Siddaramaiah,chief minister; G Parameshwara, president of KPCC; Dinesh Gundu Rao, working president, KPCC; Shri Y Sayeed Ahmed, Chairman, Minority Department, KPCC.
Dr Seema Fernandes, a dentist by qualification, has worked as a journalist in Karnataka’s leading news network, TV9/NEWS9.
Prior to her new role in the Congress party in Karnataka, she was handling media relations for KPCC’s Minority Department as their State Coordinator.
Dr Seema Fernandes is the granddaughter of Winnifred Fernandes, ex-member of legislative assembly and ex-member of legislative council, Kundapura.
She wants to continue her grandmother’s good work in Karnataka, and be a support for the minorities and underprivileged in the society.
