Mangaluru, Sep 22: Udupi Khazi Bekal P M Ibrahim has said that a person can be a real human being only if he gets worldly education with religious education. He spoke after inaugurating the twentieth anniversary of Dakshina Kannada Sunni Center, DKSC held at Town hall on September 22. He said that the educational institutes started under the leadership of DKSC, during the last twenty years, have served their purpose.
Chief orator Bokkabettu mosque Khateeb Abdul Azees Darimi commended the efforts of DKSC. “There are strong challenges in front of the society. We have to face them with the message of the prophet that says 'Live and let live'. While we are cautious when BP and sugar go high, we should take care that there is harmony in society."
Al Haj B A Moideen who had recently received the DKSC award for harmony was received by Vivek Alva, son of Mohan Alva on behalf of Alva's Education Trust, talent research foundation’s leader Abdul Rauf Puthige and U C Paulose.
Chief guest, Karnataka minister of forest and district in charge minister B Ramanatha Rai distributed sewing machines to twenty women. Five people were also given pulling carts on the occasion. Twenty educational institutes were handed over awards. Twenty Ulamas who served continuously for twenty years in Masjids were also felicitated on the occasion.
The concluding ceremony of the 20th anniversary will be held at Moolooru Al Ihsan campus, between December 2 and December 4. Minister of food and civil supplies U T Khader was present as guest of honour. Several Muslim religious heads and Khazis were present.
Welcome committee president Mamtaz Ali welcomed the gathering. Sayyed Anas Thanjal, student of Hiful Kuran College recited Kirat. DKSC executive president U D Abdul Hameed proposed the vote of thanks. Talent research foundation’s Rafik master compered the programme.
