Kundapur: Valuable brass rings, 3 batteries stolen from boats

Kundapur, Sep 21: Valuable brass rings and three batteries from boats anchored by fishermen after fishing near Maravanthe port break water were stolen. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning, September 21. 

The Yaksheshwari Prasad boats belonging to Maravanthe's Chandra Kharvi and Yaksheshwari Mata boats belonging to Shanker Kharvi and brothers were anchored after fishing on Tuesday morning.

Two batteries each worth twelve thousand rupees and hundred brass rings priced five hundred rupees each, were stolen from Yaksheshwari Mata boats. A battery is also stolen from Yaksheshwari Prasad boat.

The incident has come to light when fishermen came for fishing on Wednesday morning and went in search of brass rings for fishing nets.

The loss is estimated to be Rs 86 thousand. The fishermen had to buy new rings and batteries to continue fishing.

A police case stands registered at Gangolli police station.
