Mangaluru, Sep 12: “I will urge the government to allot grace marks in examinations to students who participate in sports activities,” said chief whip Ivan D'Souza.
Inaugurating the gym constructed with funds provided by him on the 21st anniversary of Sangam Friends Club, Jeppinamogaru in the Club auditorium, he said that if grace marks are given to such students, it will be easy for them to pass the examinations.
Corporators J Surendra, T Pravin Alva, former corporator J Nagendra Kumar, retired serviceman Upendra Salian, Shreya Suvarna, body builder Anup, club president Prakash Kothari, honorary president Pushparaj Shetty, sports secretary Arun D' Souza and others were present.
Local student Shreya who won bronze medal in the girls sports meet in Bengaluru was felicitated on the occasion.
International power lifter Anup was congratulated. Chief secretary Santhosh Kothari welcomed. Srinivas K proposed vote of thanks. Preetham Kumar and Sandesh K compered the programme.
