Chitradurga, Sep 11: In an incident which occurred in the city on Saturday September 10, social welfare minister, H Anjaneya, asked the deputy director of public instruction to suspend teachers of a school, students of which cut short the state anthem during its singing halfway through in a government programme.
On Saturday, district level Dasara sports meet had been held at Onake Obavva stadium here. At the beginning, students of a school failed to sing Naada Geethe completely. Anjaneya observed this, got angry, and asked the officials to suspend teachers for failing to properly teach the Naada Geethe to students.
Later, clarifying his move, the minister said that he observed that the rendering of the state anthem was faulty and that all students of every school are expected to be taught to properly sing both national and state anthems without any mistakes.
