M'lore: St Mary’s Composite PU College to Get New Building

Foundation stone was laid for new building of St Mary’s composite PU College at Falnir here on Monday December 3.

St Mary's Composite PU College is one of the oldest educational institutions in the city. It is managed by the congregation of the Apostolic Carmel, which was founded by Mother Veronica of the Passion. The congregation is dedicated to the education of the young girls of the coastal region.

Sr Olivia AC, provincial superior, Karnataka Province, Sr Carisimma AC, education secretary, Fr Walter D'Mello, parish priest, Milagres Church, Suresh Babu, the corporator, Sr Shalini AC, superior, St Mary's convent and the joint secretary, Rathindranath, president, PTA, Rita Pinto, vice-president, Ex-Mariettes Association and Sr Melissa AC, principal, St Mary's PU College were the dignitaries present on the occasion.

Fr Walter led the prayer service and blessed the foundation stone.
 
A new building was the dire need of this composite college as the old building was unable to house the growing number of students seeking admissions in this prestigious institute.  

Ever since St Mary's High School has been upgraded to a composite PU college, the old high school building has been shared by the PU classes and the high school classes.
