Mangaluru, Aug 10: Konkani Natak Sabha Mangalore (KNS) organized 49th elocution competition at Don Bosco Hall here on Sunday August 7. The competition was held in four categories – 5 to 10 years, 10 to 15 years, 15 to 30 years and above 30 years.
In the 5 to 10 years category, 10 competitors from 9 parishes took part.In the ladies category, Chrisal Treeza D’Souza from Milagres parish bagged first place, Rachel Maria Pais from Nithyadhar Nagar parish stood second place and Vibha Jonina Mascaenhas from Angelore parish won third place. In gents category, Ethen Pinto from Cordel parish bagged first place, Denith Rodrigues from Bondel parish stood second place and Vion Lobo from Bantwal parish won third place.
In the 10 to 15 years category, 20 competitors from 12 Parishes took part.In ladies category, Vencita Dias from Angelore parish bagged first place, Verina Maria Sequeira from Bantwal parish stood second place and Sujaya Nathsia D’Souza from Permannur Parish and Sweedal D’Souza from Gurpur parish shared third place. In gents category, Rawl Samuel Noronha from Bajpe parish bagged first place, Lenn Shawn Sequiera from Derebail parish stood second place and Annen D’Souza from Bajjodi parish and Danial Martin Ignatius from Rosario Cathedral shared parish third place.
In the 15 to 30 years, 11 competitors from 8 Parishes took part.In the ladies category, Rupal D’Souza from Fajir parish bagged first place, Jeswita Dias from Angelore parish stood 2nd place and Nelisha Angela D’Souza from Bejai parish won third place. In gents Category, Angelo Sucheth Noronha from Cordel parish bagged first place, Vinston Anil Lobo from Urwa parish stood second place and Loyal Lancy D’Souza from Fajir parish third place.
In the above 30 years, 7 competitors from 4 parishes took part.In ladies category, Leena Cornelio, from Bajjodi parish bagged first place, Janet D’Souza from Bajjodi parish stood second place. In gents category John Sunil D’souza from Permannur parish bagged first place, Charles Fernandes from Paldane parish stood second place and Cyril Fernandes of Paldane parish third place.
Edi Netto, Stephen Quadros and Dolphy Cascia were the judges for the competitions.
One behalf of president, the ex president Fr Vitus Prabhudas, Capuchin welcomed the gathering. Jery Pinto and Raymond D’Cunha compered, while Jossie Theodore proposed vote of thanks. Vice president Prem Lobo announced the results. General secretary Sunil Menezes, Gretta Rebello among others were present.
