Udupi, Aug 5: Mohan Bhat, district president, Sri Rama Sene at a press meet on Friday August 5 condemned the arrest of the SRS activists who charged into St Thomas Aided Higher Primary School, Padu Bandanthila.

In a clarification note Bhat said, "There is no need for Arabic to be taught in the school. Arabic and Urdu were forcibly taught. This is a burden on the children. The administration of the school did not take any permission from the government to teach Arabic. Moreover, they did not collect opinions from the parents about this.

He urged the concerned department to take the matter up as a serious issue, as Bhatkal, Mangaluru and Udupi are becoming sources of terror activities.

He alleged, "They are imposing a burden on the children of Hindu and Christian backgrounds."

"Was it wrong of us to have asked the management about it?" he questioned, adding that the headmaster of the school should be punished as he himself agreed to not obtaining any permission letter from the government. Also, the headmaster had filed a complaint with the Managaluru rural police on the charge of trespassers barging into the school. SRS activists went to the school to request and convince the administration and not to raid the school. Whatever has been published in the media is completely wrong.
We want to fight against this legally and lawfully. Sri Rama Sene always condemns unlawful activities.
Everyone has the right to protest in the Indian Constitution for his rights and for seeking justice," he added.

"The government has also targeted pro-Hindutva activists for all issues relating to communalism. Most of the crimes, harassment and violence, have been committed by people of other religions."

Bhat urged the school management to withdraw the case soon. If they continue with it, then the SRS activists will have to go on a major protest in the days to come.

Mohan Bhat condemned the brutal act of the police of Navalagund near Yamanur on the farmers. He called on the police to release all the arrested farmers as there was no need to file the case against them. The farmers staged a protest in order to earn justice.

He demanded to know why the farmers had no right to protest and was wrong in their protest.

Dinesh Salian Pangala, district chief secretary, Jagadish Amin Moodbettu, organizing secretary, Avinash Karkala and others were present.

they repeatedly stress on the failure of the school to ask permission to teach languages while they themselves have forgotten to seek permission to enter the school...it is nothing but contradiction.
