Mysuru, Aug 6: The bail application moved by former zilla panchayat president and Congress leader, K Marigowda, who is facing allegations of obstructing district deputy commissioner, C Shikha, from discharging her duties, and insulting her in public, stands adjourned. The third JMFC court, which is hearing the bail application, posted the case to August 8.
Marigowda, who had remained elusive for 32 days after the above incident, had surrendered at Nazarbad police station in the city on Wednesday August 3. He was produced the same day in the court after subjecting him to medical examination. He was remanded to 14 days judicial custody by the court.
The judge, G Deepa, who heard the bail petition moved by advocate, C M Jagadish, on Marigowda's behalf, had posted the same to Friday to enable the prosecution to file objections. On Friday, assistant public prosecutor, Harishchandra Gowda, argued against granting bail to Marigowda.
After hearing arguments, the judge posted the application to Monday August 8 for further hearing.
