Bengaluru, Aug 3: Police personnel of H S R Layout station in the city arrested a teacher of Madrassa for meting out cruel treatment to three of his students by tethering them with a chain in the class. Father of the children also was arrested for supporting this act.
Teacher of the Madrassa, identified as Siraj, and father of the children, Mubarak, were arrested. Policemen who questioned the duo said that the father of the children had asked the Madrassa children to tie up his children with chain to stop them from running away from class.
Siraj said that he has been sending his children to the Madrassa functioning at Parangipalya here. The children however, always found ways and means to avoid attending classes, and ran away to play. "It became a big problem for me to now and then check whether the children were playing or attending their classes. My work was suffering. Therefore, I asked the teacher to bind the children with a chain," he confessed.
Both of them have been since released on bail.
