Bhatkal, Aug 1: Differences have surfaced in BJP party members while forming a new Taluk committee. Some of the BJP leaders held press conference on Sunday, July 31 and criticized about the developments in the party and announced that they will be creating a BJP defence committee.
Speaking on the occasion, senior leader A N Pai said that the number of self-proclaimed leaders has been increasing in BJP and the party is in danger. “Dr U Chittaranjan, M P Karki and Kageri have become MLAs before MP Anantakumar Hegde became MP. BJP is nobody’s house property. It is necessary to remember that the arrival of Bangarappa and Modi wave had helped in the win of Anantakumar.”
“Those who are unable to secure more than eleven votes in banks and panchayat elections have been considered. Subbumane family in Mundalli, the birthplace of Jana Sangha is discarded. Nobody is asking for Raju Naik who had become gram panchayat president from BJP for the first time. The talk of Bailuru’s Kisan Balse who has been fighting for BJP since the beginning has no value. The situation of Haduvalli part’s Negendra Shetty is not different. Though Sunil and Ishwar Naik were invited in the party recently, Mutalik who has been raising voice for Hindus for the last forty years has no place,” he alleged.
Another senior leader M V Hebale speaking on the occasion said that he is in BJP since 1978. “The ideals of Chittaranjan are forgotten in BJP. Though BJP and KJP have become one, the differences have not stopped. All are not being led together. Lack of unity was the cause of losses in Gram panchayat, Taluk panchayat and Zilla panchayat elections. Nobody listens to the words of activists. If our own are deserted while proceeding, the party may move towards a downfall,” he warned.
“We were in BJP and will continue to be in BJP,” he further said.
Advocate Dattatreya Nayak raised objection to the way party leaders behaved during Jali town panchayat elections.
Ravindra and Shivakumar were present.
