Muscat, Nov 21: Oman has lifted the import ban on Indian poultry and poultry products after the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) declaring India birdflu.
The decision was conveyed to Anil Wadhwa, Indian Ambassador to the Sultanate, when he called on Oman's Agriculture Minister, Shaikh Salim bin Hilal al Khalili, on Monday.
Oman's decision to lift the ban follows a statement from the OIE that India is free from bird flu.
The OIE declared India free from bird flu following government efforts to stamp out the last outbreak in July 2007 in a poultry farm in a north-eastern Indian village.
