Mangaluru, Jul 19: The main bench of National Green Tribunal at New Delhi, which has received a batch of petitions opposing execution of Yettinahole projects which were transferred to it from the southern bench of the tribunal at Chennai, has fixed July 27 for hearing these petitions.
The anti-Yettinahole petitions filed with the National Green Tribunal's Chennai bench were being heard by one of the benches there. However, as the judge of that bench retired, and its expert member sought voluntary retirement, all the petitions had to be transferred to the other bench. As this entailed submission of all the arguments presented so far once again, the petitioners had requested for transferring the cases to New Delhi so that the problem of frequent shifting of cases and inordinate delay in their disposal does not happen.
On Monday, the bench took up the cases and posted them for hearing to July 27. Two more petitions are yet to be transferred to New Delhi from Chennai, and this process is also expected to be completed shortly, it is gathered.
