Lucas Silva loan to Sporting Lisbon fails

Lisbon, July 11 (IANS): The loan deal of Real Madrid's Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva to Portuguese football club Sporting Lisbon has failed, according to the Portuguese press.

Portugal's A Bola newspaper on Sunday said that medical examinations have revealed that the player is suffering from heart problems, while O Jogo newspaper claimed that the loan was aborted after new financial demands emerged in the last minute, reports Efe.

Silva, 23, arrived in Real Madrid in 2014-15 from Brazilian side Cruzeiro, and was loaned last season to Ligue 1 side Marseille.
