Bengaluru, Jun 16: Leader of the opposition in legislative assembly, K S Eshwarappa, has urged the chief minister, Siddaramaiah, to drop ministers, H C Mahadevappa and H N Mahadeva Pasad, from the state ministry because of the involvement of their sons in illegal mining.
Addressing a press conference at his office in Vidhan Soudha on Wednesday June 15, Eshwarappa noted that sand is in short supply all over the state, and as such, poor people are finding it very hard to build houses. He said that the government has miserably failed to manage the situation and provide sand to the needy at reasonable prices. On the other hand, he stated, that illegal sand mining by children of ministers has been going on unbridled.
He pointed out that in a recent meeting, when questioned, district superintendent of police of Mysuru had confessed that he was facing death threat. He said that this brings to light the pathetic situation all over the state, considering that police are facing death threats in the home district of the chief minister.
