Kundapur, Nov 5: “The World Wide Web(www) called internet is the most wonderful contribution of information technology,” said Prof S Narayana Rao, principal, Bhandarkar’s College.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Internet World-2007, a three-day camp organized for the benefit of the students.
He further said that today’s illiterate person was not of an old kind but a new creature who badly lacked the rudimentary knowledge of operating the internet machine called computer.
The only difference he said, was that the old illiterate was exploited by his literate brother where as the new literate should know how to make the world wide machines a benevolent master and not a malevolent monster.
Our students should know the good and bad effects of the Internet machine which no doubt offers the operator or its master the whole world in a silver platter so to say, he added.
