Riyadh, Nov 3: In a press release issued here by TTH, Rajeev Shahare the deputy chief of Mission, Indian Embassy in Riyadh, stated that while both India and Saudi Arabia share a long standing relationship, but after “the visit of the custodian of two Holy mosques King Abdullah the relationship has strengthened even further, and mutual understanding has reached new heights.” He was speaking at the grand ‘Mushairah’ arranged by proactive organization of NRI’s ‘Tanzeem Hum Hindustani’. President THH Mohammed Quaiser presided over this grand ‘Mushairah’.
According to him India is making rapid strides of development in every aspect of life, especially in the educational sphere because of its high standards. Owing to this many students from all over the world are attracted towards India. Gulf countries are well aware about the progress made by India, and this is the prime reason why many Saudi students are coming to India for higher studies, Shahare pointed out.
Shahare, while talking to a huge Indian gathering here confided that during his recent meeting with foreign affairs minister HRH Saud Al Faisal, Faisal had disclosed to him that in the near future Saudi Arabia will make necessary arrangements to send ten thousand Saudi students to India for higher education. Faisal in-fact told him, ‘the Custodian of the two holy Mosques has said India is my second home.’
“From this comment the importance of India is evident”, declared Shahare. Further he stated that the THH is arranging many service oriented programs, and he assured his full support and cooperation to THH activities. He said THH through this symposium highlighted the history and future progress of our country, and by arranging ‘ghazal night’ & ‘mushairah’ entertained a lot to our brethren, thus lit the lamp of our country’s rich traditional culture and hospitality.
Mohammed Quaiser, the president of Tanzeem Hum Hindustani in his introductory remarks praised Urdu poets and writers for the great role played by them in national integration and enhancement of harmony among various cultures. Poetry is a communiqué of love and humanity, and there is no place for hatred and parochialism in it, he declared. His exquisite speech given with a deep sense of craftsmanship and marked by selected words had the auditorium reverberating with spontaneous applause. Moreover he even spoke to the representatives of the Indian community on the need for an improvement in national airlines services, and demanded that the Indian Embassy should play a proactive role in the commencement of direct flight to Hyderabad from Riyadh.
The event began with a warm welcome accorded to all local poets as well as the visiting poet from Gulbarga, Abdulrahim Arzoo. Rajeev Sahare inaugurated the ‘Mushairah’ by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Moreover on the occasion poets were distributed gifts from Messrs Musharaf Ali Shaker, district sales manager Air India, Mir Ahmed Ali, KU Iqbal Malayalam News, J Selan, Gulf Air.
Imtiaz Ahsan secretary THH conducted the first session and Liaquath Ali Hashmi General secreatry conducted the poetry session.
Qauiser presented shawl and flower bouquet to Rajeev Sahare and on behalf of THH Sahare presented a shawl to visiting poet Abdulrahim Arzoo. Bringing the grand event to a close.
