Olympic tickets go on sale for swimming, basketball, athletics

Rio de Janeiro, May 19 (IANS): Tickets for Olympic basketball, swimming and athletics have been put on sale, Rio 2016 organisers have said.

Fans have the chance to buy tickets to the events -- which include finals -- on the official Rio 2016 website from 12 p.m. local time on Thursday, reports Xinhua.

Tickets are priced at $14 for basketball, $29 for athletics and $46 for swimming.

Every Thursday, the Rio 2016 organising committee puts on sale batches of tickets for sessions that were previously unavailable.

The Rio 2016 Olympics will be held from August 5 to 21 and the Paralympics from September 7 to 18.
