MUSCAT, Oct 26: Safa and Marwah, conjoined twins born to an Omani couple, will undergo surgery at the Medical City of King Abdulaziz for the National Guard in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, according to a statement issued by the hospital.

Dr Abdullah Al Rabia’a has confirmed completion of all procedures and examinations for the surgery, saying that the children are in good health and ready for the surgery after spending 10 months under intensive medical care as per the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abulaziz Al Saud, who undertook their treatment and surgery.

Mohammed bin Nasser Al Jardani, father of the craniopagus twins, expressed his hope that the operation will be successful.

It is worth mentioning that craniopagus twins Safa and Marwah (females) were born in August 2006 along with their separate male twin (Yahya) and that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques issued his directives, last year, for conducting the surgery for separatng the twins.
