Mumbai, Sep 24: One can become a good poet only by continuing his learning process said, Vitori Karkal, associate editor of ‘Mithr’ Konkani weekly.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Konkani writers’ get-together at Gyan Ashram in Mahakali Caves Road in Adheri (E), organized by Maharashtra Konkani Bhasha Mandal. He further opined that one should have the concern for the development of Konkani literature. Then only one can contribute rich literature for Konkani.
At the same time, Valerian Quadros, editor of ‘daiz.com,’ inaugurated the Konkani poetry workshop.
Lawrence D’Souza Kamani, Clement A Lobo Nakre, Flora D’Souza Jerimeri, Clement Madantyar, Jyoti Lasrado Derebail and others were present on this occasion.
Ancy Paladka briefed about the poetry workshop. John D’Silva welcomed the gathering. Felix D’Souza Malvani introduced the guests. Irene Rebello Malad led the prayers. Leo Fernandes proposed vote of thanks. Joy Paladka compered the programme.
Later poetry session was held, which was presided by Navin Kulshekhar, sub-editor of ‘Divo’ Konkani weekly. Poets J B Sequeira, V D’Silva, Victor Concesso, Irene Rebello, Rita Albuquerque, Rone Michael, Neri Nazareth, Ancy Paladka and others recited their poems.
