Mysuru, Nov 28: With the recovery of the body of the second girl who went missing from Belavatta village near here, the operation to search for the two girls ended on Friday November 27. The body of Pooja (12) had been found from Varuna canal on Thursday from Rammarahalli. The mortal remains of Manasa (12) was recovered from Varuna canal at Ramanahundi in the outskirts of the city on Friday afternoon.
Both the girls, students of class XI of Infant Jesus Higher Primary School, Belavatta village, had left their homes on Wednesday evening after school hours, saying that they were together going to meet a friend. They were not to be seen thereafter.
Pooja's father Nagaraj is an auto rickshaw driver by profession. Manasa's father, Perumal, works as a mason. Both the parents have no clue how their daughters ended up in Varuna canal and both the families are inconsolable, having been devastated by these deaths. The police of Metagalli station, with whom a missing complaint was filed on Wednesday night, have arranged for postmortem of the bodies.
