Bengaluru, Nov 22: Opposition BJP has decided to stage protests in Bengaluru on Monday against the deteriorating law and order situation in the State. The BJP will be taking out a massive public protest march from Freedom Park to Vidhana Soudha on Monday morning against the failure of the Siddaramaiah regime in controlling the law and order situation.

The failure of the State Government in ensuring the protection of women and the continuing incidents of rapes and other atrocities against women in Bengaluru and in other places in Karnataka is a serious issue, the BJP said.

BJP State President Prahlad Joshi, leader of the Opposition Jagadish Shettar, former Chief Minister and national Vice President B S Yeddyurappa, party legislators and workers would be participating in the procession from the Freedom Park to the Vidhana Soudha in the city.

The state BJP also demanded the resignation of Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya, who is facing allegations of bribery against his own wife, following a sting operation by a news channel.

The fact that the state government has ordered a CID probe into the entire bribery scam is valid ground for the minister’s resignation if the latter refused to quit on his own, the BJP said in a press release on Sunday.

The state government has failed to maintain law and order and two people were killed in the violence in Madikeri against the State Government’s decision to organise the Tipu Jayanthi celebrations at the cost of State exchequer, the BJP alleged.
