Mohali, Nov 7 (IANS): India defeated South Africa by 108 runs on the third day of their first cricket Test at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium here on Saturday.
India were bowled out for 200 on Saturday in their second innings after making 201 in the first innings. South Africa, after being bowled out for 184 in their first essay, could only manage 109, thereby falling short by 108 runs.
For India, left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja took four wickets, while off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin scalped three. Leg-spinner Amit Mishra and pacer Varun Aaron bagged a wicket apiece to dismiss South Africa's bid to chase down 218 in the fourth innings.
