Mangaluru, Oct 17: Local swimmers in Ullal rescued three women who were on the verge of drowning in the sea at Mogaveerapatna on Friday October 16.
Two of the women hailed from Bengaluru while the third is from Madikeri. Noor Jehan (45) and Nafiya (30) residents of Ramachandrapura, Bengaluru, and their relative Khairunnisa (28), from Madikeri. The family of ten, after visiting Ullala Sayyed Madani Dargah, had gone to Ullal seashore for recreation.
The women, while playing in the water in the sea shore, got caught in massive waves. Local swimmers Dikshit Karkera, Shivan Bangera, Dhanaraj Puthran, Roshan Suvarna, Sudheer, and Kishore rushed to their rescue and brought them safely ashore.
Two of the women have been admitted to a Thokottu hospital. Nafiya, whose condition is critical, has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.
