Mangaluru: Local swimmers rescue three women from drowning in sea

Mangaluru, Oct 17: Local swimmers in Ullal rescued three women who were on the verge of drowning in the sea at Mogaveerapatna on Friday October 16.

Two of the women hailed from Bengaluru while the third is from Madikeri. Noor Jehan (45) and Nafiya (30) residents of Ramachandrapura, Bengaluru, and their relative Khairunnisa (28), from Madikeri. The family of ten, after visiting Ullala Sayyed Madani Dargah, had gone to Ullal seashore for recreation.

The women, while playing in the water in the sea shore, got caught in massive waves. Local swimmers Dikshit Karkera, Shivan Bangera, Dhanaraj Puthran, Roshan Suvarna, Sudheer, and Kishore rushed to their rescue and brought them safely ashore.

Two of the women have been admitted to a Thokottu hospital. Nafiya, whose condition is critical, has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

    In fact Hindu, Muslim or Christian have no religious bar as it comes to helping people. But our politicians are polarizing the society for their own gain..particularly votes...we have to reject such politicians...Then only India may develop.

    We blame politicians. But its rooted in our families and we nourish them.Education level is increasing but the society is degrading. Olden days education was less but still there was peace. Now shall we blame education or ourselves. Anger enmity revenge everything is till we go to soil but the effect of that will remain throughout the generations.

    A great rescue help from the local youths,be cautious while you are for fun in the sea without knowing any swimming.Sometime the fun turns into tragedy and lose of one's precious life.

    i think sometime back in the same area few youths have been attacked when they advised the people not to go into the sea. Police also registered the case against the youth. but forgetting those incident the people of that area again saved the lives. this is called "manaviyathe" we should respect them. we should not comment on the basis of name
