New Delhi, Oct 8 (IANS): Atletico de Kolkata will miss the services of Baljit Sahni for the next two matches of the second edition of the Indian Super LEague (ISL) after the midfielder was found guilty of violating Article 58 of the AIFF's disciplinary code.
The winger, who plays for East Bengal in the I-League, was also fined Rs.5 lakh. He will have to sit on the sidelines when Kolkata host Kerala Blasters FC in their next match at the Salt Lake Stadium on October 13.
"Baljit Sahni, Jersey No.6, player of Atletico de Kolkata has been suspended for next two matches of Hero Indian Super League and fined Rs 500,000 (Rupees Five Lakh only) for breach of All India Football Federation (AIFF) Disciplinary Code (Article 58) of Offensive Behavior and Fair Play during the match between FC Goa and Atletico de Kolkata on October 7 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda Goa," a statement by the ISL organisers said on Thursday.
The match had ended in a 1-1 draw as Kolkata, who are the reigning ISL champions, conceeded a late goal after leading for most of the game.
