Mumbai, Sep 29: Superstar Salman Khan started the 9th season with a lot of fanfare and fun at the press meet that was held yesterday. The actor took to the stage amidst glittering dancers, old contestants and, as the title says - Double Trouble.
Previous Bigg Boss inmates Puneet Issar, Pritam Singh, Urvashi Dholakia, Praneet Bhatt, Rajeev Paul, Karishma Kotak, Ali Quli Mirza and Siddharth Bhardwaj had loads of fun at the press meet with Salman as well gave their audiences a tater of all the fun to come, this season of the reality TV program. They all spoke about their own experiences and hinted at a double shot of fun, twists and entertainment this coming series.
Salman diplomatically withheld the names of the contestants this time round. When asked about the contestants for this season he said, "It is better to let a surprise remain a surprise... it will be revealed slowly." Raj Nayak, CEO of Colors TV revealed that the primary aim of the soon to air season was "to make it more engaging" while ensuring that the entertainment and fun was family friendly. As for what the contestants take away from the show, Nayak said, "Tanishaa Mukerji, Armaan Kohli and Gauahar Khan got the recognition. Their career got re-boosted in many ways because the show provides 100 days visibility. Hence, it is a great platform."
While many had speculated and Salman himself has hinted last season that he might not be back to host this one, it has come as a welcome surprise that the much loved star is back on the small screen. Mid way last season Salman had handed over the hosting reigns of the show to director, choreographer Farah Khan, as he had to get to his shooting schedule for Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The movie went on to become a huge hit, and although in the throes of his rigorous training for Sultan, Salman will still be hosting Bigg Boss 9 that is expected to air on the 11th of October.
