Trisha Illana Nayanthara - A certificate Tamil movie - not adult enough

Daijiworld Media Network - Entertainment

Chennai, Sep 22: Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the movie that was touted to be the most bold one in the history of Tamil Cinema has turned out to be more sentimental than adult in its outlook. The lip kiss scene that was in news for having needed 36 re-takes, is but the tip of the iceberg, unfortunately the boldness doesn't go much deeper than that.

A love triangle that is shown to have grown since the day they were born, has the three principle characters shown to end up together in the same cradle at the hospital. Jeeva (G V Prakash) who plays the male lead is seen to have been placed between Ramya (Anandi) and Aditi (Manisha Yadav) who grow up to be the two lovely ladies that he is forever caught in between. In some places it seems like adult jokes are pushed on to the audiences with quite obvious references such as a kiss between Jeeva and Ramya is accompanied by gushing water to symbolise growing up.

Freedom for both the sexes is shown but the freedom that was available to the makers of the movie has not been exploited. They emotions simmering on the surface could have transcended into a lot of physical action that would have justified the A certificate but the audience is left waiting for something more till the end. The movie overall is sweet and not very much adult.
