Mangaluru, Sep 12: MLA J R Lobo laid the foundation stone for the concrete road from Padua High School to Sharbathkatte, KPT, here on Saturday, September 12.
The 475 meters road between Padua High School ground to Sharbathkatte, KPT is being made into a concrete road at a cost of Rs one crore under rupees 100 crore grant of Karnataka government (third stage).
Speaking on the occasion, MLA J R Lobo said, “This was a long time demand by the people of this region. Now the city corporation has taken up this work and concreting 475 meter road at the cost of rupees one crore. This would help commuters as this road is extensively used by people travelling to airport. Contractor M G Hussein has taken up this work. I have directed him to complete the work at the earliest. Work is expected to be complete by the end of this month”.
Mayor Jecintha Vijay Alfred said, “We have taken up the work of 475 meters and rest 200 meters will be also concretized at the earliest. This is a very important road as it is a linking road between highway and airport road”.
Corporators Roopa D Bangera, Shashidar Hegde, Deepak Poojary, Sudheer Shetty, Kavitha, Appi, Harinath Jogi and others were present.
