Pakistan beat India in handicapped cricket


Dhaka, Sep 8 (IANS): Pakistan reached the final of the ICRC Twenty20 Cricket Tournament for the physically challenged after defeating arch-rivals India by 44 runs.

Sent in to bat after losing the toss at BKSP Ground 4 here on Monday, Pakistan piled up a huge 174/6. Opening batsman Hasnain Alam was the highest scorer for Pakistan with 39 followed by Rehan Ghani with 34. Dansih also chipped in with valuable 26, reports bdnews24.com.

Indian skipper Dinesh Kumar bagged two wickets giving away 17 runs.

Chasing the mammoth total, India were all out for 131 in 19 overs. Fyaz Ahmed picked up a hat-trick to fashion Pakistan's third victory in the tournament. In the last three balls of the 19th over, he got successive wickets to finish with figures of 4/14.

For India, Yash Negi (26) and Ansul (24) put up some resistance against the impressive Pakistani attack, but in vain.

Along with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Bangladesh's sports ministry and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are organising the tournament.
