New Delhi, Sep 2 (IANS): Pria Kataria Puri is set to organise a fashion show in Geneva to celebrate the decade-old existence of Heart For India foundation (HFI). The designer says the intention is to spread awareness among the privileged and encourage them to contribute towards a noble cause.
HFI, founded by Princess Francoise Sturdza, helps in turning orphanages into stable, nurturing and loving homes for children, where they can thrive and transform their lives. Puri is the Indian promoter and ambassador of the foundation.
"HFI has conceptualised a gala event for their 10th year anniversary in November and so I am going to invite society and fashion fraternity friends from Dubai, San Francisco and Delhi," Puri, who designed costumes for Priyanka Chopra and Mahie Gill in the 2013 film "Zanjeer", told IANS.
"The intention is to spread awareness among the privileged and encourage them to contribute towards this noble cause. The Princess and I have invested a lot of time and thought in our collaboration and look forward to everyone's support," she added.
The designer's association with HFI started almost eight years back when she first met Princess Francoise.
"The causes they support are genuine and are areas of concern in our nation. I'm really proud and honoured to be their brand ambassador. Since my association, I have been part of about four to five events of their extensive fashion shows and the kind of response I've got from these events was phenomenal.
"It's humbling to be able to contribute to the cause through my art," said Puri, who has also designed for the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Tabu.
