Mumbai, Aug 29 (IANS): Shraddha Kapoor was at her glowing and glamorous best on the Lakme Fashion Week winter-festive 2015 runway in a white ensemble by designer Namrata Joshipura, whose collection was inspired by the Lakmé Insta Light latest skincare innovation.
The Lakmé Insta Light runway saw an impactful use of LED lights that accentuated Joshipura’s creations. The show opened with models positioned under four giant black iron rectangular frames that lined the stage. In the darkness of the hall, their swimwear, with strategically placed lit bulbs came alive.
Dolman sleeve tops, asymmetric long sleeve printed wraps, drop waist dress and shimmering racer back tops appeared in quick succession on the ramp were part of the line, while a white crushed asymmetric coat, silver side cascades on pencil skirts and the micro shorts under long tulle skirts, also turned out to be highlights.
To match the lightness of the inspiration, the designer selected white, light pastel blue and purple as the primary hues. She also brought in shimmer and Holographic fabric by weaving metallic strips into the fabrics.
Shraddha added more glamour to the show with her catwalk and charming smile.
“It was very interesting to work on a show based on a brief... it was challenging and the same time, quite nice. The show made me push my boundaries,” Joshipura told IANS.
“Taking inspiration from Lakmé’s latest skin care innovation Lakmé Insta Light, my collection aims to set the stage for a youthful and modern collection that glows and sparkles. Iridescence and shine are the primary elements of my collection and I'm achieving this through both surface embellishment and interesting selection of fabricS,” she added.
The designer also feels that Bollywood stars are very fashion savvy and if given a chance, she will try costume designing in future.
“I feel the Bollywood stars are very fashion savvy. They have great bodies and have a great sense of fashion. I think now I will definitely consider it,” she told IANS when asked if she is open to costume designing for a film.
