Manchester, Aug 17 (IANS): Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini has said his players are "hungrier and angrier" this time after losing out on the English Premier League title last season.
City finished second behind Chelsea in the 2014-15 season, eight points behind the champions.
"Maybe what happened last season was a good experience. These players are hungry and angry. Now they want to win every game," Pellegrini was quoted as saying by bbc.com, after City thrashed Chelsea 3-0 here on Sunday.
City restricted Chelsea to few chances and once Argentine forward Sergio Aguero scored the first for them with just over 30 minutes gone, City never looked like losing.
After the breather Belgian defender Vincent Kompany headed in a David Silva corner and midfielder Fernandinho thumped in another from the edge of the box to secure all three points for Manchester City.
"Today we made a complete game," Pellegrini said.
"It is impossible to dominate against Chelsea but in their best moments they created just one chance to score. We played in the way I like, to always try to score more. It was a great performance."
