Dubai, Jun 12: Beary’ is a Muslim ethnic group originated from the coastal parts of the state of Karnataka in India. Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) was formed in the United Arab Emirates under the auspices of Dubai Indian Islamic Centre, UAE. BCF’s main objective is to promote, educate and create social, cultural and educational awareness amongst the Bearys in the UAE & India.
The BCF conducts regularly Scholarship issuance to the poor bearys, cultural, sports, talent search, educational activities, Iftar Party, etc. every year. Last year, BCF provided scholarship to 179 students for pursuing their studies in medicines, engineering, Management, PUC, Dentistry, B.Com, B.A., B.Sc., MSc., etc.
During the 6th Annual General Meeting held on 8th June, 2007 at the President Hotel, Dubai, the under-mentioned Central Executive Managing Committee members were elected besides the Unit Committee, Unit Coordinator and the Executive members.

Dr. B.K. Yusuf has been an efficient President of the BCF and under his leadership, the BCF has been growing by leaps and bounds. Dr. B.K. Yusuf was elected 6th time continuously as the President of Bearys Cultural Forum, UAE. BCF has a vision to assist the Bearys in the UAE and other parts of the world for the purpose of promoting education and act as a help desk in building up the career of the Bearys. Besides, the aforesaid Managing Committee members, there are Executive Members, Unit Committees and the Bearys Relief Board. Dr. Yusuf stated “BCf will be committed to work for promoting education of the bearys and specially developing the women folks”. Dr. Kaup, General Secretary stated, “Bearys should cross the educational boundaries and represent as a part of the learned and developmental arenas amongst men and women genders.” M.E. Moolur stated that Bearys development and welfare could be measured only based on how many people have been educated in the Beary community.
