Mangaluru, Jul 27: It was an evening of enchanting music as young Heba Abdulla and her brother Adam Abdulla weaved magic on the piano, in a charity concert held to raise funds for Rotary Navachetana English Medium School at Hotel Moti Mahal here on Sunday July 26.
The talented siblings, children of Riyaz Abdulla and Mona Saeed, presented Choose to make a difference', an exclusive charity piano concert, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Mangaluru to raise funds to support a charity initiative called 'Education for All' run by Heba.
The funds raised from the piano concert will be utilized to support to Navachetana school to buy IT equipment such as computers. All proceeds go directly towards the funding of the IT infrastructure of the school, through the Rotary Club of Mangaluru.
Heba and Adam played many songs including classical and contemporary, both solo and duets. The song 'Tum Hi Ho' from the Bollywood movie Ashiqui 2 played by Adam and the song 'Someone Like You' of Adele were outstanding. The crowd cheered and applauded.
Appreciating the siblings, Yatish Baikampady of Rotary Club of Mangaluru said, "Heba and Adam during their vacation in Dubai organized a charity programme to raise funds to provide drinking water facility and interlock facility to Navachetana school. This time during their vacation once again they have come forward with a charity piano concert to raise funds to build IT infrastructure in the school. Heba has mastered the piano and she is teaching begginers. The Rotary Club of Mangaluru appreciates the efforts of the siblings. They have sacrificed their leisure time for a good cause."
The 'Education for All' is being run by Heba Abdulla. Over the last year she has raised Rs 75,000 by conducting various activities such as bake sales at her school in Dubai, and through contributions from generous donors. These funds have been used to provide facilities such as a drinking water cooler, and cover partial cost of the interlocks at the Navachetana English Medium School. In addition, she has also provided 275 academic books to the school library.
