Bengaluru, Jul 24: A new twist has come to the daily serial of Lokayuktha corruption case. A tape recording containing the conversation between a lawyer and V Bhaskar the friend of Ashwin Rao is in the news now in the never ending saga. The tape was made public on Thursday afternoon.
The tape reveals some hitherto unknown things, but nobody is sure whether they are real facts. The authenticity of the tape itself is yet to be verified.
The tape says that special investigation team (SIT) which is investigating the graft case is going to protect justice Y Bhaskar Rao ultimately with the investigating agency favouring all the accused. The tape says that the complaining engineer Krishnamurthy is grilled more in the case.
The tape also says ‘Lokayuktha superintendent Sonia Narang owns 4-5 flats at Bommanahalli. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Justice Bhaskar Rao went to New Delhi together with Ashwin Rao.’
Bhaskar claims that even if 100 cases are filed against Ashwin Rao ‘the boss’ is going to bail him out.
The tape blames many people connected to Lokayuktha office including Justice Santhosh Hegde the former Lokayuktha. It only spares a person named Antony who works at the Lokayuktha office and tells that he is honest.
V Bhaskar claims in the tape that national media is very much interested in interviewing him and he has been offered up to Rs 4 lac for an interview. He says political parties including BJP and Congress have approached him to join their parties.
Some analysts believe that the revelation of the tape is an attempt to derail the ongoing investigations of the graft case.
Meanwhile after the recent arrests of Srinivas Gowda, Shankare Gowda and Ashok Kumar in the case, it is said that SIT has obtained crucial information from them. After the tape of V Bhaskar was made public on Thursday afternoon, home secretary S K Patnaik summoned investigation officer Labur Ram for a meeting regarding the developments.
