UGC de-recognises Karnataka State Open University

Bengaluru, Jun 18 (Agencies): The Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru, was de-recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Thursday.

The public notice released by the UGC, on June 16, 2015, stated that KSOU was flouting norms, directives and guidelines of distance learning programmes issued by the UGC and Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.

The notice also stated that KSOU had not been recognised by the UGC beyond 2012-13.

Students are cautioned against taking up any professional/technical programmes in the University.

    i have opted for BA degree course from ksou is it valid and does the certificate valid if i go for any pvt job??? NOT government..
    only professional and technical courses are derecognised or everything ???

    If this is going to be the fate of students who are currently perceiving any of the courses in KSOU,then that particular university should be held responsible and all the students should be compensated for spending their money and time on such courses.

    Why kichdi by Smriti? In 2012-2013, your dongi govt was there in centre. Ask them why they didnt recognize in that period?

    It is a shocking news-UGC-de-recognizes Karnataka State Open University for flouting norms, directives and guidelines of distance learning programmes issued by the UGC and Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.It also said that KSOU has not been recognized beyond beyond 2012-2013 by UGC.Under the circumstance,what about the future of the students,who studied after 2013 and currently studying?.Most of the students are preparing for their first semester,which will be held in the first week of August 2015 and paid the required fees as well?.Can anyone explain the exact status of the issue and clear the doubts,which is already prevailed in the heart of the students.Will they be stranded and left at lurch or any remedial solution is there?Otherwise many students,who already paid the fees and preparing for the first semester will fall under the trap of great trouble.Please come out with some concrete solution and resolve the matter at the earliest.Don't play with the destiny/fate of the students.
