Bengaluru, Jun 12: Suspended senior IPS officer Alok Kumar has now been shifted to the post of IGP Internal Security Division, Bengaluru.
It may be recalled that Alok Kumar, known as a high profile IPS officer, had been recently suspended over his alleged involvement in the lottery scam.
Alok Kumar was serving as IGP and Additional Commissioner of Police, West Bengaluru.
He has now been shifted to the vacant post of Inspector General of Police, Internal Security Division, Bengaluru, with immediate effect, according to a government notification issued on Friday.
He was suspended on May 23 and was allegedly known to have personal links to Pari Rajan, alleged kingpin in the scam.
The suspended IPS officer allegedly had telephonic conversations and meetings with the lottery scam kingpin Pari Rajan.
The State government entrusted the case to the CBI for investigation after Opposition BJP and JD(S) mounted pressure seeking central probe.
The State Government also announced the transfer of C H Pratap Reddy, IGP, Criminal Investigation Department, Bengaluru, to the post of IGP and Additional Commissioner of Police, West Bengaluru, which was earlier held by Alok Kumar.
K V Sharat Chandra, IGP, Administration (Chief Office), Bengaluru, is transferred and posted as IGP, CID, Bengaluru.
Kuldeep Kumar R Jain, Commandant, First Battalion, KSRP, Bengaluru, is transferred and posted as SP, Chamarajangar district, vice S Rangaswamy Naik, transferred.
