HDFCbank as OTP on mobile & also on email simultaneously when you add benificary for FIRST time only. Money can only be transfered to beneificary account only. OTP is not sent or used when you transfer money again & again. There is also settint to set maximum limit of amount which can be set with the help of OTP in mobile & EMAIL.

First of all she had done a mistake that She did not keep a limit for withdrawing then since she has such a huge amonut in bank she could have kept an sms alert of balance daily. mail she has done she deposited in a private bank. friend i will tell you banking we have to learn from Punjab National Bank, also Canara bank and SBI. If you little posh you can go for Deutsche bank highly secured.
It really smell something fishy why means somebody purposefully deactivated sms alerts and ATM card duplication. i will suggest if its atm they can trace it through the atm cctv and if its from computer they can track through the Ip address

All the banks including leading Indian as well as International banks have made OTP(One Time Password-Sent via SMS to registered mobile Number)mandatory for all online transactions. It is only ICICI Bank has stopped this mode of transactions and Started grid based password on back side of DEBIT CARD linked with the account. This method of transaction is very dangerous because anyone having copy of backside of debit card can complete internet transaction. May be ICICI BANK wants to save SMS charges and jeopardize customers accounts. Cunning-ster bank helping fraudsters.

Who said that ICICI bank doesn't have OTP. It has OTP and also the grid based security for every transaction. I'm an ICICI account holder. I have found it is the most safest as there are multiple security associated.

No banking application is so insecure that allows any person to move funds from others account without his/her knowledge.

Its apparent that the user's internet banking details would have been shared with other person by the account holder or
any person from bank itself might have been involved in this.

Lawrence, email and sms alerts are events post transactions. It's no use closing the stable's door after the horse is bolted. In this case we don't know the exact modus operandi of the miscreants. We all know that the security password should be maintained as a top secret but in many cases account holders are rather negligent about it. I don't mean to say passwords are hack proof, there are softwares available to aid hacking, after all it's a matter of permutations and combinations and miscreants are always a step ahead!Security breach is not restricted to ICICI alone. It happens everywhere, digital security, it's said is the most insecure thing in the world! May be quantum computing will provide a better security.

geoffrey, hat hill. Note that the transactions took place between April 30 and May 21, this year. SMS could have avoided any transactions after April 30.

Such frauds always happen in ICICI bank because the over-smart aggressive marketing Managers of ICICI Bank always throw the security norms to the wind in their over-zeal to mobilize business, while the officers of nationalized banks do not break norms even if they lose business.

Bank should set up an e-mail alert/SMS for every withdrawal above certain amount. Technology is so advanced that it may cost almost nothing to the bank.
