Dr Jack Sequeira
Dr Sequeira was born in Rangoon (Burma) on April 20, 1915. He was a gold medallist from the Goa Medical College at a young age of 21.
One of the finest legislators of our times despite his political and ideological rivalry with the late Dayanand Bandodkar, he was a close friend and associate of the first chief minister. It is thus befitting that the named after the first chief minister enjoins the one now named after Dr Jack de Sequeira at the Miramar junction. He formed the United Goans Democratic Party in Goa.
It was Dr Jack Sequeira who proposed the Opinion Poll idea and fought for it and gave Goa its present Identity of becoming a independent state.
