Mangaluru, Jun 8: The members of Sri Rama Sene (SRS) on Monday June 8 protested against the BJP-led central government over various issues and against the Congress-led state government over the withdrawal of cases against PFI and KFD. The protest was held in front of the DC's office here.
Addressing the protest, SRS zonal president Mahesh Koppa attacked the central government over issues like construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, forced conversion and cow slaughter and said, "The BJP government was elected as it had promised to build Ram Mandir, stop cow slaughter, and stop forced conversion. But after winning the hearts of Hindus by making these promises, they (union government) have now made a u-turn on all these issues.
"The recent comments on cow slaughter and beef ban by BJP national president Amit Shah and defence minister Manohar Parrikar have hurt the sentiments of Hindus," he added.
"Everybody can do development, but BJP was not elected on issues of land acquisition or cleanliness driver. Swachch Bharat Abhiyan has become a photo-op now. PM Narendra Modi is totally silent on cow slaughter and Ram Mandir issues. He is busy doing 'dombarata' with international tours, and is not focussed on the real issues on which the BJP came to power," he lashed out.
Condemning the state government over withdrawal of cases against PFI and KFD, he said, "The state government is supporting anti-national activities by not taking proper action against PFI and KFD. All Hindus will come together and hold a massive protest against the state government.
"The cases have been withdrawn for the sake of vote bank and to appease a community. They (state government) are supporting anti-national elements, and that is why they withdrew 1,600 cases against PFI and KFD.
"From long, only Hindus, despite not being anti-national, are being targetted, but people who are involved in anti-national activities are given favours. SRS is ready to do anything to safeguard the rights of Hindus. We will unite all the Hindus against the state government for this cause. All the cases have to be reopened and PFI and KFD must be banned. If not, all Hindus will protest," he said.
A memorandum was submitted to the DC on this occasion.
SRS district president Jeevan Neermarga, district secretary Praveen Valke, and others were present.

Mangaluru, Jun 8: The local unit of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha on Monday June 8 condemned the recent decision of the state government to withdraw cases against members of PFI and KFD in the 2009 Mysuru communal violence.
Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha state chief secretary Rajesh Pavitran said, "The cases were registered in Mysuru in April 2009 and July 2009 where members of KFD and PFI were booked for allegedly attacking the police, besides other crimes. As many as 114 cases were also filed in Shivamogga in 2010 against 1,400 persons in connection with communal violence.
"Home minister K J George and chief minister Siddaramaiah should resign for taking such an irresponsible decision. If they want to withdraw cases then let them withdraw those registered against Hindu organizations. We fight for the nation, so they have to withdraw cases that are against us and not those against these terrorists," he said.
"Akbaruddin Owaisi has given a vague statement that yoga should be banned as it involves Suryanamaskara. He has no right to talk against yoga or Hinduism. People who talk against Hinduism should be slaughtered," he said.
Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha leaders Shravan Kumar, Naveen Kumar, Chethan Mallya, Prakash and Kishore Kumar were present.
