Bengaluru, Jun 8 (DHNS): Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to leave for Delhi on Monday evening to discuss with the party high command on either expanding his council of ministers or reshuffling it.
Sources in the State Congress said the chief minister is open for either of the options. But he would try to buy time from the high command to conduct the exercise till elections to Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) are over. The polls are likely to be held in August this year, the sources added.
AICC president Sonia Gandhi has convened a meeting of the chief ministers of Congress-ruled States in Delhi on June 9.
She wants to get feedback from the party chief ministers on, among others, how the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre has been treating the Congress-ruled States.
The senior Congress legislators have been mounting pressure on the chief minister to give them an opportunity to serve as ministers. They want him to drop the ministers who are not performing properly.
Siddaramaiah is scheduled to leave Bengaluru on Monday evening at 8.10 pm. The chief minister is expected to return to Bengaluru on Wednesday evening, the sources said.
