London, June 7 (IANS): British actor Richard Johnson, who starred in film, theatre and television, has died after a short illness here. He was 87.
Johnson passed away at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, west London, on Saturday, reports mirror.co.uk.
Johnson was a founding member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and played several lead roles, including Romeo and Mark Anthony in "Julius Caesar".
He featured in many films, including the 2008 movie "The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas", "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" and "Khartoum" in 1966.
Johnson's TV credits include "Doc Martin", "Silent Witness" and "Midsomer Murders".
He is survived by his wife Lynne, whom he married in 2004, and his four children.
