Mangaluru: Passengers, drivers injured after two buses collide at Alape

Mangaluru, Jun 4: Around 10 persons were injured after two buses collided head-on at Alape, Padil here on Thursday June 4.

The accident occured when one of the two buses overtook another vehicle and rammed head-on into the other bus approaching from the opposite direction.

One was buses was moving towards the railway gate from State Bank, while the other was returning from railway gate. While one was PTC bus, the other belonged to Bhavani Travels. Both were 9-numbered buses.

Among the injured, two have been identifed as Ali and Razak. The driver of Bhavani Travels bus is said to be serious.

The injured have been admitted to different hospitals.

It is learnt that the police took a long time to arrive at the spot and even after an hour of the accident, said that they had no information on it.

A case has been registered in Kadri traffic police station.

    I stay in padil area and I am well experienced with these guys.they don't have any value for human life.apart from driving recklessly the way that shift the gears will make you scared.They will hornk so much as if they are driving an ambulance.as someone adviced no 9 license to run should be cancelled And run KSRTC bus in these rouths

    The main point is M/s Bhavani motors owners not allowing to Run bus in this route this is the fact all bajal people nos, but our great R T O Dont No this ,So Please Cancel All Bhavani Motors Permit ,

    PLEASE CANCEL THE DRIVING LICENCE AND PERMIT OF THE BUS PERMANENTLY WHO IS RESPONSIBLE BY OVERTAKING RECKLESSLY BEFORE ANY MAJOR COLLISION TAKES PLACE IN FUTURE SO THAT THIS WILL BE A CAUTION TO OTHERS TO BE CARE FULL WHILE OVERTAKING ESPECIALLY SCHOOL ZONES.

    RTO POLICE ARE SILENT SPECTATORS NOW A DAYS WHEN BUSES ARE PLYING AS THEY WISH MAY BE THEY ARE ALSO HELPLESS BECAUSE OF TUNDU POLITICS AT ALL LEVELS OTHERWISE HOW ONE CAN OVERTAKE TO SUCH AN EXTENT INSIDE CITY LIMITS AND LEAST BOTHERED ABOUT SAFETY OF PASSENGERS.

    HUGE PENALTY ON BUS OWNERS AND SEVERE PUNISHMENT FOR BOTH CONDUCTORS AND DRIVERS IS THE ONLY SOLUTION TO THIS IF ADMINISTRATION DARES TO TAKE SUCH AN ACTION.
    THIS IS HAPPENING ON A DAILY BASIS BUT WHY RTO/ADMINISTRATION IS LEAST BOTHERED ABOUT PASSENGERS SAFETY.

    This looks like a clear case of reckless driving. Overtaking other vehicles should be done with caution after assessing the time and distance that may be needed to pass the vehicle and ensuring that in the meantime the vehicle from the opposite direction does not collide into your vehicle.

    It appears that this is a case of wrong judgement causing injury to many and loss perhaps to insurance companies.

    This accident was waiting to happen. Sometime ago, a Tempo Traveller had collided with an Omni killing the driver of the Omni at the same spot. There was a divider at this turn, which probably was built by the British or some of our earlier engineers of Highway Authority because they had sensed the danger this spot posed. But a few years ago, that divider was gradually destroyed - deliberately or accidentally - by vehicle collisions. And one fine day the divider disappeared and the Highway Authority demolished whatever was left and laid bitumen on the road. This shows the intelligence of the people who rule us. When will the Highway Authority, Corporators, and MLA wake up? Incidentally, sometime ago, our MLA had inaugurated a new road exactly at the same spot, but he did not think of the danger this place posed. So much for our rulers.

    What is new with these private buses, They have no importance to Human life over taking and danger passage r life's is very common with theses private buses, They should take some serious action towards this. Karnataka GOV should plan for interstate rail service or metro in Karnataka
