I always apologise for 'Batman & Robin': George Clooney

Los Angeles, May 25 (IANS): Actor George Clooney has once again apologised for the 1997 superhero movie "Batman & Robin", admitting that he feels he had destroyed the franchise.

"I did 'Batman & Robin'...which was a disaster. Other than that, there's never been a reason for me to go to Comic-Con,” the 54-year-old said on "The Graham Norton Show", while promoting his latest movie "Tomorrowland", reports aceshowbiz.com.

When the host pointed out that Clooney had apologised before for the critically panned movie, he replied, "I always apologise for 'Batman & Robin'. Let me just say that I actually thought I destroyed the franchise, ya know, until they brought it back and changed it."

While most actors would gain more prominence after taking on a superhero role, Clooney thought he made a bad career move with playing the caped crusader in the 1997 movie.

"I thought at the time, this was going to be a good career move. Um, it wasn't," he added.

Clooney's new sci-fi film "Tomorrowland" was released in India on May 22.
