Los Angeles, May 25 (IANS): Hollywood star Will Smith's son Jaden Smith will next star as Virgil Hawkins aka Static Shock, according to actor Tyler James Williams.
During an interview with YouTube channel "Flicks And The City", Williams discussed his activity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the lack of young black superheroes, reports aceshowbiz.com.
When Williams pointed out that "there aren't a lot of young, black comic book superheroes", two people in the background shouted "Spider-Man" and "Static Shock".
"The Walking Dead" actor then responded: "I don't know... What you're taking about. But yeah no, it's great to see Static Shock is happening with Jaden."
"We'll see what happens, in what way Marvel decides to go with 'Spider-Man'," he continued.
"Static Shock" was originally created by Dwayne McDuffie, Robert L. Washington III, and John Paul Leon for Milestone Comics in 1993. The character is described as a self-professed teenage geek who loves video games and possesses electricity-based powers.
Jaden, 16, will join his father Will and his mother Jada Pinkett Smith in the DC Universe. Will portrays Deadshot in upcoming supervillain film "Suicide Squad", while Jada previously played Fish Mooney on "Gotham".
