Mumbai Indians refreshed after break: Rohit Sharma

Mumbai, April 30 (IANS): Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma on Thursday said five days away from cricket following their victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad was good for the team as it helped them refresh and focus on their plans in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“Five days' break was really important and very much necessary. These few days we really had good time. We were completely out of cricket. Then we got back here yesterday and trained hard and even today as well, we will do the same,” Rohit said ahead of their match against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium here on Friday.

“The boys have been playing a lot of cricket for the past couple of months. It’s good to have breaks and the team feels refreshed, rejuvenated and come back fresher. In terms of planning and what we needed to execute, it was good to have that break.”

The skipper said his team would aim to carry on the momentum they gained after winning against Sunrisers at home on April 25.

“Momentum plays a huge role in these tournaments. We will get back to where we left from against Sunrisers and will continue to do our best,” he said.

Asked if the two new replacements -- New Zealand left-handed batsman Colin Munro and Australia bowler Ben Hilfenhaus -- would feature on Friday, Rohit said he would prefer to stick to the winning squad.

“We can’t say anything now if they will be playing tomorrow. We have to wait till tomorrow morning and then take a decision. The combination we played the last game did pretty well. We have to think if we have to change the team or not. We won the game against Sunrisers with this team," the 28-year-old said.

"Munro and Hilfenhaus are very good players. Hilfenhaus has played in IPL before. Munro hasn’t but he has played in India. Munro comes with a huge reputation in Twenty20. So we will wait and see what happens with these two.”
