Mangaluru, Apr 17: 'Adrenaline-2015', the annual inter-collegiate sports and cultural extravganza of Father Muller Charitable Institutions began on the evening of Thursday April 16 with a splendid event.
The fest was inaugurated in a unique way by showcasing glimpses of events scheduled during the four-day event and a dazzling display of fireworks.
Multi-talented singer-actress Ester Noronha was the chief guest along with MLC Ivan D'Souza.
Addressing the gathering, MLC Ivan D'Souza said, "The inauguration has given a glimpse of the glorious programme. I thank the Father Muller management for inviting me. I respect this institution as my own. FMCI is known for its sincerity and service. The degree obtained from FMCI carries huge recognition outside the state. I too enjoy cultural events. I wish all success to the programme."
In her address, Ester Noronha said, "It is my honour to be at this event. There is an artiste in each one of us, but due to the busy schedule of life, it fades away as we are constantly running behind succcess. Education and work are top priorities of life, but we also have to find time for our hobbies. We need to have a cause to live - a simple personal cause sometimes becomes a social cause. We need to prioritize what we desire and act on them, only then will we be remembered.
"Art is an expression of oneself. We should try to find sometime to connect with ourselves and art helps us to find our real selves. We need to live every day of our life to the fullest. I wish all success to this event," she added.
FMCI director Fr Patrick Rodrigues, said, "These four days will be full of joy and accompishment. It is an opportunity for us at Father Muller to showcase the unity of this institution. Many have worked together as one team, and I thank all the students, teachers and coordinators for their ceaseless efforts in making this a success."
The highlight of the event was performance by Ester Noronha, who enthralled the gathering with two songs.
Fr Rudolf Ravi D'Souza, administrator of FMMC, Dr J P Alva, dean of FMMC, Dr Arun P Jose, staff convener, Fr Richard Coelho, George Joseph, Wanmancy Tariang, student coordinator and others were present.
Dr Arun P Jose proposed the vote of thanks.
The excitement of the day was brought to a close with a vibrant duet dancing competition.
