Mangaluru: Police bust prostitution racket - Seven in custody

Mangaluru, Apr 11: The Kadri police on Saturday April 11 busted a prostitution racket and arrested three men and detained three girls and an alleged woman pimp.

The arrested are Praveen of Bikarnakatte, Prakash of Attavar, and Manju from Gadag. Among the three girls, two are from Subramanya and Bengaluru, and another a local.

Based on credible information, the Kadri police raided a flat in the third floor of an apartment building at Kudkorigudde and arrested them.

Police sources said that the alleged woman pimp, hailing from Sakleshpur, is a divorcee and has been staying at the apartment from the past two months. It is not known since how long she has been allegedly involved in the racket.

The girls and the woman have been sent to a cousenselling centre, and all seven will be produced before the judge.

The raid operation was led by inspector K V Nagaraj and SI Rafiq along with other police personnel.

Kadri police have registered a case.

    Mangalore with the influx of migrants on a large scale some of them rich traders and businessmen the demand for sex services rises and Mangluru now is said to become a hub for prostitution and other nefarious activities!!

    This is just the tip of the iceberg, there could be 100s of such flesh dens operating in and around the city, not to forget the high end escort services which operate in the cozy comfy of 5 star amnesties!!

    Since sex is one of the most basic bodily need like food and water, the demand for it will never go down and so the supply too will come!!

    There is a very outrageous comment on marriage by the famous mystic 'Osho', which I think was originally quoted by Shakespeare: "As I see it, out of a hundred marriages ninety-nine marriages are just licensed prostitution. They are not marriages. A marriage is only a real marriage when it grows out of love. Legal, illegal, does not matter. The real thing that matters is love."

    So legalizing this oldest profession will be the best idea!! Jai Hind!!

    Again flesh trade business in mangalore is at limelight in mangalore. There are so many joints similar to this in mangalore. Poor guys they caught!!!! Why can't governance legalise brothels in developing city's . For example in Mumbai rape or assault ratio is almost nil because of giverents permission on brothels. I support this cause full heartedly.
