Mangaluru, Apr 7: "The union government is committed to the development of renowned Sayyid Madani Dargah of Ullal which has contributed immensely for the educational, social and religious development of the region,” said Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, union minister of state for minority affairs.
He was speaking after visiting the Dargah on the occasion of 423rd annual and 20th five-year Uroos of Ullal Sayyid Madani Dargah.
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi during his visit also offered prayers at the Dargah.
"It is noteworthy to observe the service rendered by Sayyid Madani Dargah. This is one of the most memorable events of my life. I had heard about Mohammed Shariful Madani’s holy life and his contribution to the spread of the Holy Quran. But after visiting here, I have learnt about the social work done by the Dargah which has his name. I am aware that the union government has not helped the Dargah so far. But this government is going to respond. I will do my best in this matter so that Ullal Dargah’s requests are met. I have been convinced about the major requests. I will make arrangements to dispatch the official concerned for further action in this matter," he assured.
"The union government has given special preference for education and employment. Our aim is that all educated should be employed. Hence we will respond positively to Ullal Dargah's request," Naqvi added.
