Mangaluru: Again - Passenger brings gold worth Rs 15.71 lac hidden in rectum, arrested

Mangaluru, Apr 6: In yet another case of its kind, the officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport on Monday April 6 seized gold worth Rs 15.71 lac concealed in the rectum of a passenger.

The accused passenger identified as Sabir Berka (19), a resident of Kasaragod, was arrested and produce before the chief judicial magistrate.

The customs officials seized gold in the form of two cylindrical rod shaped objects totally weighing 583.3 grams of value Rs 15,71,944, from the passenger, who brought these gold rods by concealing them in his rectum.

Berka arrived at Mangalore International Airport at about 8.25 hours by Jet Airways flight number 9W531 from Dubai.

Further investigation is under progress.

This is the fourth such case in the last two months at Mangalore International Airport.

    Poor fellow, may be he has gold deficiency in his body. Just like when u have calcium deficiency doctor suggests to take calcium sandoes. Similarly Dubai doctor might have suggested him to take Gold dosage for his Gold deficiency. It is Sabir Berka's "My choice - My life". He will keep Gold wherever he wants...

    Don't talk about fishy. Then the whole daijiworld secular team will be behind you. Its really shocking that neither Kerala nor Karnataka govt are ready to investigate from where and how this much Gold coming and who is funding all these and how they are surviving with even such huge losses daily. Our CM may be thinking of "Gold Bhagya" also for these brave persons. But he is still sleeping it seems.

    The Govt should seriously investigate the link between gold smuggling & terrorism. Why only one particular community people brings so much gold ?
